We’ll kick things off at Villa Laguna, where you can settle in, unwind, and get ready for the adventures ahead.
Then, we’ll make our way to Nicaragua’s Pacific Coast for a couple of nights by the ocean, soaking up the salty breeze and coastal vibes. While we’re there, we’ll embark on a special turtle night expedition, with the chance (fingers crossed!) to witness Olive Ridley turtles nesting on a protected beach.
We’ll also visit a local non-profit dedicated to protecting turtle nests from poachers and learn about their inspiring conservation work.
On our last day at the coast, we’ll stop in San Juan del Sur, where a visit to this lively beach town is topped off with a sunset catamaran cruise along the stunning Emerald Coast.
Back at the lagoon, you’ll have time to float in the warm crater waters, soak in the natural beauty, and fully relax. If you’re up for more adventure, you can explore some of Nicaragua’s must-see spots, like the colorful city of Granada, the bustling Masaya markets, and more—all just a short drive from Villa Laguna.

Accommodation at Two Unique Venues Over 6 Nights
Four nights at Villa Laguna and Two nights at a private villa right by the Pacific Ocean in Southern Nicaragua.

Eleven Meals During the Week
6 Breakfasts and 5 Dinners. All lunches and dinner in SJDS will be optional. Meals at Villa Laguna and at the private villa at the beach are vegan only.

Turtle Night Expedition to Protected Beach
Olive Ridley Turtles only nest in specific beaches along the Pacific Coast. The “La Flor” Wildlife Refuge is a protected beach that we will visit in hours of darkness to (if we are lucky!) witness the mesmerizing nesting process of these incredible creatures.

Visit + Donation to Vital Actions to Support Their Turtle Conservation Efforts
We will visit Vital Actions turtle nursery and see in first person how they save lives each day, as well as donating some funds to continue their important mission.

Sunset Catamaran Cruise
We will end our time at the beach with a sunset catamaran cruise along the Emerald Coast… with open bar onboard!

Day Visit to San Juan del Sur Beach Town
Discover the most popular coastal town in Nicaragua including it’s famous statue of Christ Redeemer (second largest in the continent after the one in Rio!)

One Yoga Class per Day
You will have included one yoga class per day in the price of your package and the option to join additional classes if you like on the days at Villa Laguna, for a fee.

Miriam will accompany you during the week, to make sure you have the best possible time. As an experienced retreat and group trip leader living in Nicaragua over the last 10 years, she knows all the ins and outs, the best recs and how to maximize your well deserved vacation.

Airport Transfers + All In-Country Transportation
Private transfers from/to Managua (MGA) airport are included upon arrival and departure. Also, all transportation for activities included in the itinerary is also part of your package.

Itinerary
DAY 1 – Welcome to Nicaragua!
Arrive at MGA (Managua Airport), where a private transfer will take you to Villa Laguna. Settle in, meet your fellow travelers, and enjoy a welcome gathering before sharing a delicious dinner. (Dinner included.)
DAY 2 – Relax & Recharge at the Lagoon
Start the day with an invigorating yoga flow followed by a nutritious breakfast. The rest of the day is yours—swim, float in the warm crater waters, or take a scenic hike. Feeling adventurous? Explore Granada’s colonial charm, Masaya’s artisan markets, or the vibrant local culture in nearby towns. (Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.)
DAY 3 – From Crater to Coast
After a relaxing yoga practice overlooking the lagoon, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a morning of rest before we gather for lunch together. In the afternoon, we’ll set off on a 2-hour journey to our private oceanfront villa in Southern Nicaragua. This beautiful venue is exclusively for our group, offering the perfect setting to unwind right by the beach (infinity pool, anyone?). As the sun sets, we’ll toast to new adventures with sunset drinks, followed by a home-cooked dinner under the stars. (Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.)
DAY 4 – Ocean Vibes & Turtle Experience
Wake up to the soothing sound of waves and start your day with morning yoga overlooking the ocean. After a delicious breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning—take a stroll along the shoreline, dip in the ocean, or simply lounge by the stunning infinity pool.
After lunch at the villa, we’ll take a 30-minute drive to visit Vital Actions, a local conservation initiative dedicated to protecting Nicaragua’s sea turtles. We’ll hear from the founder himself about their incredible work and get a firsthand look at their efforts to safeguard turtle nests. If we’re lucky, we might even get to release baby turtles into the ocean—an unforgettable experience!
As the sun sets, we’ll enjoy a buffet-style group dinner at a nearby resort, before setting off on our Turtle Night Expedition at La Flor Wildlife Refuge (just a 15-minute drive south). If nature is on our side, we’ll have the rare chance to witness Olive Ridley turtles nesting on this protected beach—a truly magical sight!
After an incredible night, we’ll return to our beachfront villa for some well-deserved rest. (Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.)
DAY 5 – Beach Town & Sunset at Sea
After morning yoga and breakfast, we’ll depart our villa and head to San Juan del Sur, a lively beach town famous for its surf culture, colorful streets, and relaxed atmosphere. We’ll start by visiting the Christ Redeemer statue perched high on the hill, offering sweeping views of the town and coastline. This statue is the second-largest of its kind in the Americas!
Afterward, you'll have free time to explore the town and grab lunch at some of the recommended local spots. In the afternoon, we’ll set sail on a sunset catamaran cruise along the beautiful Emerald Coast. With an open bar and stunning golden-hour views, it’ll be the perfect way to unwind.
Once back on land, feel free to grab a to-go meal in town before we head straight back to Villa Laguna for the evening. (Breakfast and open bar + snacks on the catamaran included.)
DAY 6 – Choose Your Own Adventure
Wake up to the sounds of the jungle once more, followed by a refreshing yoga practice and breakfast. The rest of the day is yours to do as much or as little as you like! Stay by the lagoon and enjoy a swim, treat yourself to a massage, or join an optional excursion—your choice! We’ll come together for a final dinner and a farewell gathering in the evening, reflecting on an amazing week. (Breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.)
DAY 7 – Bye for Now
After our closing yoga practice and breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye—taking home a heart full of memories (and maybe a little sunshine to help you through the winter!). A private transfer will take you back to the airport for your flight home. (Breakfast included.)

This retreat is designed to offer a truly intimate experience, with a small group size—minimum of 6 and maximum of 9 participants—ensuring personalized attention and a deeper connection with yourself and others. Everybody over the age of 16 is welcome to join us!
The available packages are based on the accommodation options at both Villa Laguna (for the first and last two nights) and the private beach villa (for the two nights in the middle).
At Villa Laguna, all rooms feature ceiling and floor fans (no A/C!), as well as private bathrooms. At the beach villa, all rooms have air conditioning, though some have shared bathrooms.
OPTION 1 - Large Room with Balcony and Private Bathroom
The most spacious and scenic rooms at both properties! Enjoy breathtaking views and the comfort of a large private bathroom. At Villa Laguna, you’ll have three beds to choose from, while at the beach, a luxurious king bed awaits.

OPTION 2 - Spacious Room with Balcony and Private Bathroom for up to 3 people
At Villa Laguna, you’ll stay in the same large, well-appointed room as in Option 1, with three beds and a private bathroom. At the beach villa, this first-floor room offers a private balcony with the same stunning ocean view, a queen bed and a single bed, and a slightly more compact private bathroom.

At the beach villa, relax in a queen room with a private balcony overlooking the ocean. These rooms share the bathroom, offering a balance of privacy and affordability while still enjoying breathtaking views.

A $500 USD non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your reservation.
The remaining balance is due 30 days before arrival or when the trip sells out—whichever comes first.

A minimum of 6 participants is required for this trip to take place. If the minimum is not met 30 days before the start date, we reserve the right to cancel the trip. In the unlikely event of cancellation, all deposits will be fully refunded.

You’re seeking a luxury stay. This is a boutique experience, designed for those who understand that in this part of the world, not everything always works as expected.
You prefer to do your own thing all the time. While this is a group trip with a set itinerary, we’ve included plenty of free time for you to enjoy some flexibility. You expect guaranteed sightings of turtles while at the beach. Although this trip has been carefully planned around the lunar calendar to maximize the chances of witnessing turtle nesting and even releasing baby turtles, Mother Nature ultimately decides when these events happen.
You’re not comfortable with bugs or other natural creatures. Living in the tropics means you may encounter more than just cute monkeys and turtles!
You have a pet dander allergy. Villa Laguna is home to 9 rescue cats and 4 rescue dogs, and we occasionally host pets from outside. While we maintain a clean environment, it’s not a pet-free space.
