Host a Retreat or Group Experience in Nicaragua

Let us help you create your retreat or group experience in the stunning Laguna de Apoyo. A magical place in Nicaragua.

Villa Laguna is a private and unique space for retreats and group experiences located in a secluded area of the Laguna de Apoyo Natural Reserve, Nicaragua.

The Laguna de Apoyo, which is, in fact, the caldera of a collapsed volcano that still has some activity underneath, literally translates to "Support Lagoon" and offers you the unique opportunity to swim in its healing waters, surrounded by the tranquility of this oasis that is yet close to some of the unmissable highlights that Nicaragua has to offer visitors.

Villa Laguna offers a capacity for 16 people (potentially 20 depending on bed occupancy) and boasts a privileged location on the lagoon's shore, providing you with the perfect space to host an unforgettable experience for your tribe. With no other people around, this secluded oasis ensures privacy and creates an ideal setting for creating lasting memories.

What People Are Saying…

PARADISE FOUND

“Villa Laguna is absolutely gorgeous! The pictures do not do it justice. Its secluded on the edge of a old volcano that is now a lake. The water is full of minerals, so its great for your skin, but other wildlife (crocodiles) can’t live in it. We did a week long meditation retreat here and it was perfect for us. Quiet, secluded, warm, breezy, and beautiful to the eyes. Miriam and Manuel are like angels fallen from heaven. They have a beautiful staff too. They made sure that everything for our retreat went absolutely perfect. They served us the freshest plant based meals and juices every day. The food was too good. Im inspired to continue eating this way, my body really liked it. They also take a lot of pride in being completely eco-friendly. I felt like I was taking really good care of the Earth while I was there. We made a really special connection with the owners and staff. I feel like we are family now, and we always have a home to go back to. If you are visiting Nicaragua, you must spend some time here!”

Nurture in Nature

“Villa Laguna is a beautifully tranquil place set amongst dense natural foliage and with a view that cannot be beat, it is truly magical. After visiting for the first time whilst hosting a yoga retreat, I can say that Villa Laguna was not only the perfect venue but over exceeded any hopes or desires I had when choosing a place to host. The grounds were lovely and well kept, the lodge itself was inviting and warm and the staff were paramount. The Laguna is something to see and feel to believe! Miriam and Maribel were to say the least, an incredible pleasure to work with. Miriam - along with her partner in crime, Manuel - were there throughout our stay and they truly went above and beyond to create a healing, warm, inviting and special place! Miriam is a wonderful lady full of light and energy and always there to help with a big beautiful smile. Deeply passionate about what she does and conscious of her guests and their desires, I could not ask for a better individual to have been on this journey with, to have met, and to now have as a dear friend. I would recommend Villa Laguna to travellers and teachers alike. If your planning on taking or hosting a retreat, or simply just getting away and back to nature – this is the place!”

Unforgettable! Out of this World!

“Our women’s yoga healing retreat at Villa Laguna was an unforgettable and powerfully transformational experience. Miriam and Manuel and their kind, caring, quite generous staff took care of our every need: from the extra activities they skillfully organized to the cleansing, energizing and scrumptious meals to the clean cozy eco conscious accommodations. And not to mention the magic of Laguna de Apoyo and the surrounding reserve. The mineral rich volcanic crater lake is a luxury to swim in. We were constantly serenaded by the peaceful forest teaming with many awe inspiring varieties of birds. My morning meditations were accompanied by the distant sounds of monkeys in the dawn and frogs at night. And the stars….oh the stars. Miriam is artfully fulfilling what seems to be her divine calling, to create and hold a powerful and peaceful space, in balance with nature, that soothes, transforms and heals every needy soul. I can’t wait to return.

By the way, we hope you have a soft spot for rescue dogs and cats, cause we have a bunch.

Is Villa Laguna the right venue for me?

It is for you if:

  • You truly love time in nature and enjoy the opportunity to live in a rustic yet boutique space at the shore of a crater lagoon AND have exclusive occupancy during your stay.

  • You love remote, secluded spaces that allow you to have the amount of silence and quiet you want, or alternatively, to make the noise you like without bothering anybody.

  • You want to be based right by the water and have access to a public (yet feels like private) beach by walking 3 minutes.

  • You want to explore and hike around the Laguna de Apoyo Natural Reserve: we have the most amount of fauna sightings in the area and access to a few hiking paths that are suitable for all levels of fitness.

  • You appreciate a variety of good food cooked with love right in front of your eyes.

  • You care about making a difference, specifically for the animals. We are super passionate about helping strays, rescues and supporting low-income families with vet care for their loved ones.

  • You want to be well looked after. We truly care about you and your group.

It is not for you if:

  • You are looking for a luxury stay. Villa Laguna is a homely property built with mostly eco-friendly materials that offers clean and comfortable accommodation in a unique and authentic setting. There is no A/C in the property (but we have plenty of fans!)

  • You or anyone in your group have a severe pet dander allergy. We have 10 rescue cats and 4 rescue dogs onsite, and we also accept outside pets to stay from time to time, so although we keep everything very clean, it would be foolish to say it is a pet free environment.

  • You don’t like bugs or other little creatures that come inherently with living in nature. It is not all cute monkeys and fireflies when you live in a Natural Reserve. We do our best to try to keep any unwanted companions at bay, but you might have to encounter one at some point and we hope you will be super cool about it :)

  • You expect the same “comforts” you might have in your home country. We do our best, truly! But let’s face it, we are located in the crater of a volcano in a developing country that has gone through its fair share of challenges, so you need to understand that something that might seem very common for you, might be extremely uncommon here.

  • You think that Nicaragua is unsafe. Honestly, do you think that if it was the case we would be inviting you to come? When we say we care about you, we mean it. But if you prefer to miss the opportunity to enjoy one of the most underrated and stigmatized countries in the region, that’s OK!
