This project was very special to us, and we spent several weeks preparing and making it a reality.

In November 2020, the east coast of Nicaragua and the region known as the "Mining Triangle" were severely affected by hurricanes ETA and IOTA, which one after another, without giving any chance to recover, devastated the entire area.

Through totally fortuitous contacts, we were able to locate a small rural school to which we could bring a donation of school supplies, since the school year in Nicaragua begins in February. Our aim was to support the families of the area with these extra expenses in a moment in which they didn’t even have a lot of the basic needs covered.

We also learned of the existence of a Maternity House in the community, part of a government program that aims to provide pregnant women from remote communities with a safe place near a medical center where they can give birth to their babies. As you can imagine, we had no doubt that we wanted to expand our donation and visit the Casa Materna to do our bit and share our personal experience with the moms.

On this occasion we ventured to record some videos and we have compiled them in this summary video that you can watch below. We apologize for the poor video quality, the poor editing, and low sound. This is our first attempt at something like this and we clearly have a lot to learn! We hope that it will at least help you to have a little idea of this beautiful experience.
