We sponsored physical therapy and transportation for a little girl with a disability

Remember that last month I told you about the “Centro Integral de Desarrollo Corazón Contento" in Granada? One of the girls that used to attend the center, Nahomi, who is 9 years old and suffers from microcephaly and cerebral palsy, had to abandon her physical therapy because her parents have lost their jobs due to the current crisis and cannot afford the cost of the taxi to take her to her weekly session.

We have sponsored her small contribution to the center ($ 20 USD per month) and have made an arrangement with a trusted taxi driver to take Nahomi and her mother to therapy every Tuesday for the next 6 months.

You can't imagine what this means for this family. We personally know the parents and they are good people trying to provide for their three children, including Nahomi who obviously needs special care that results in high costs for the family’s reduced budget.

Total Donation: $230 USD

We made a donation of medicines and needed products for two rescued dogs in critical condition.

Adopción Animal Nicaragua is a non-profit organization, known as “FUNDACION ADAN”, with the main objective of raising awareness, protecting and promoting the rights of animals, focusing especially on stray dogs and cats that have been abandoned in the streets of Managua.

A few weeks ago they published about the case of Tom, a dog that was found in a park where his former owners tried to kill him by hanging him in a tree (see Facebook post here). Luckily for Tom, the park keeper found him in time just before he suffocated and saved his life.

Fundación ADAN welcomed him and the volunteers have been working hard to return him to good health so that he can be adopted by a family that loves him as he deserves (in this post you can see him weeks later, he is currently with a foster family).

In addition to Tom, the organisation currently has among its rescued doggies one called ChiChin, who was in critical condition when he arrived to the sanctuary due to a skin disease and requires special soap and vitamins to strengthen his immune system. Here you can see Chichin now, the difference is jaw dropping.

Total Donation: $55 USD
