7-Day Yoga & Walking Retreat In The Heart Of Andalucía, Spain

Yoga, Walking, and Authentic Flavors from a Traditional Finca in Andalucía

Nestled in the Andalusian countryside near Ronda, this retreat is set in a traditional country finca surrounded by olive groves. The finca provides a peaceful base for the week, where mornings begin with yoga, evenings close with shared dinners, and days are dedicated to exploration and connection.

Across seven days, participants will balance twice daily yoga with handpicked excursions: the cave-house village of Setenil de las Bodegas, the dramatic cliffs and iconic bridge of Ronda, the awe-inspiring Caminito del Rey, and the hilltop charm of Olvera. Two sensory highlights complete the experience — a bodega tour to learn about Andalusian wine, and an olive oil experience that celebrates one of the region’s most ancient traditions.

The retreat is hosted by Miriam, an Andalusian native and experienced retreat leader, joined by Charlie, a dear friend and former Villa Laguna guest teacher who now returns to co-host and guide daily yoga practices and experiences. Together, they create a supportive, welcoming environment that blends movement, discovery, and the rich historical spirit of Andalucía.

Is this Yoga & Walking Retreat for me?

It is not for you if:

  • You’re expecting a luxury resort experience. The finca is boutique, homely, and privately rented for our group, without in-house staff or hotel services.

  • You’re not comfortable with a plant-based menu. All included meals are vegan, reflecting Charlie and Miriam’s ethical belief that all beings deserve to be happy and free. (For non-included meals, you’re free to choose alternatives, no judgment!)

  • You’re looking for a yoga-only retreat. While yoga, meditation, and breathwork are a big part of each day, this retreat is equally about enjoying the group excursions and the Andalusian setting.

  • You want to do your own thing all the time. This is a group retreat with a set itinerary; while free time is included, much of the magic comes from sharing the experiences together.

  • You don’t like hugs, laughter, or spontaneous fun — because there will be plenty of that.

Meet Your Hosts

Miriam Rodríguez Márquez

A few years ago, Miriam left behind a fast-paced international career in aviation after a documentary on veganism shifted her path. She became a certified Health Coach specialized in plant-based nutrition and eventually settled inside a volcanic crater in Nicaragua, where she co-founded Villa Laguna, her retreat space by the shores of Laguna de Apoyo.

Originally from Southern Spain, Miriam has called Nicaragua home for 10 years now. A 200-hour certified Hatha Yoga Teacher trained in India, she combines her background in health coaching, yoga, and plant-based living to create spaces where people can slow down, reconnect, and nourish body and mind. She lives surrounded by rescued animals and is committed to supporting local communities and animal welfare projects through her work.

Her biggest inspiration is her daughter Aixa, who was born still in 2020 and continues to guide her through life. This experience deepened Miriam’s commitment to retreats that go beyond yoga and meals, offering participants a chance to feel safe, supported, and part of something meaningful.

Miriam brings her Spanish roots, her love for Andalucía, and her dedication to helping others find balance and joy through yoga, mindful living, and shared experiences.

Charlotte Hay

Charlotte has been passionate about nature, the environment, and protecting animals since an early age. Vegan for over 20 years, her journey into wellness began alongside her academic studies in Political Philosophy, eventually leading her to train as an Ashtanga–Vinyasa yoga teacher. She spent two years traveling the world sharing her practice before training as a Health Coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Her path has since expanded to include training as a doula, women’s life coach, and cacao ceremony facilitator, as well as further yoga certifications in yin yoga, Rocket yoga, prenatal yoga, vinyasa, and women’s yoga. A lifelong learner, Charlotte later returned to university to become a Clinical Nutritionist, specializing in women’s hormonal health, fertility, and wellbeing.

She is deeply passionate about helping women reconnect with their cycles, live symptom-free, and embrace a new relationship with their bodies. At the same time, she continues to advocate for the planet, spreading the benefits of plant-based living and fostering compassion for all beings.
